Is it possible to directly query the Results.gz backup file using excel? I can do it manually, and to a certain extent automatically, but it's a faff and it's much easier to manually create a new backup.csv file daily, then query that.

I think I know the answer to this, and If I'm right can you look in to creating a query-able (csv?) daily results file?

Sorry, that is not possible, but you should be able to export results to the CSV file by using menu item. Then you can open CSV file in Excel and analyze it.
