OK. first bet is 1:30pm, so will watch the Betfair interface and it should fire an SP Lay bet at 1:25pm.

I know about the liabilities, an overlooked part I mentioned a couple of messages ago.

These are £10 bets so only bets at SP 1.99 and uinder should fail (lapse).

There will be no failed bets if you set BSP liability to £10. All BSP bets get matched at BSP price at start time.

Final bet size is determined by Betfair by using BSP so that your Lay bet liability is £10.

Please test it in simulation mode first and then carefully in real mode to ensure that you have correct settings.

NO my liability needs to be £10 X Price or £140 if 15.00 SP.

I can't test it in Sim mode as I have it already running other scripts in real mode.

That is not how BSP bets work. It is not possible to place Lay BSP bet to unknown liability. All BSP bets are placed to fixed liability and your final bet size is calculated only after BSP is known.

What? After all these messages you are telling me I can't place an LAY SP bet with a fixed £10 stake???

It certainly is possible manually as I hit the SP button on the Betfair interface and type in 10 and I will have £10 x unknown price = unknown liabilty liability.

That is not possible via API and it should not be possible via website too. Can you post screenshot of such BSP bet?

Initially you had question about bets persistence and issue with "Take SP" where bet was not being matched, it was getting lapsed status. We are sorry if there was any confusion regarding this.

Yeah. I was slighly out on that and of course why I set a bet to LAY £10 with a 10 tick lower price with a persistance of SP.

If the bet did not go down to that price before the off it should settle the £10 X SP price.

I posted my settings for that and you said it was WRONG.

I asked the question. As I am asking for 10 ticks WORSE price is this going the correct way to LAY.

You need to turn off option to use start price as initial price. I already explained that in previous reply to that image. This rule has nothing to do with type of bet, it is just setting odds that will be requested when placing bet and you cannot use start price as it is unknown before in play.

Just a few minutes to go and you did not answer the question.

I am asking for a WORSE price of 10 ticks. As it is a LAY bet I want a worse price as I have already placed a back bet earlier.

On a bet at 5.0 and I want a WORSE price will it go 10 clicks BELOW 5.00 it would if I was backing but this is a LAY bet and I don't want it to go 10 ticks above 5.00.

Worse price is higher price for Lay bet, so if you asking for price 5.0 then worse price is 10 ticks above it e.g. 6.0 etc.

You should stop using real mode while learning how rules and settings works. You will lose all your money with wrong settings. Please switch to simulation mode to test your strategy settings and take time to read the manual for details on what each option does:

OK. I have set it for a Better price but only two ticks to test.

It will fire in about 4 mins from now

It did not fire a single Lay bet and is set to do that at 5mins.

As I had three bets in the race I turned off the Lay bot with 2mins to go and manually traded them out to £10 each.

As you can see Betfair did not do what I wanted.
---------------------
Redorange was taken at 7.20 and layed at 6.60.
It did not go to SP and was a loser so a "push"
__________________________________________
Rajeteriat was taken at 2.86 and went a bit higher at SP 2.87.
It only layed £9.81 of the £10, so I lost £0.19 on this horse
-------------------------------------------------
Siegan was Taken at 7.80 and drifted to 9.27 at SP.
This also did not place the full £10 only placing £7.98 at SP. I gained £2.00 on the drifter!
_________________________________________

Remember I manually had to trade out and placed a £10 bet to settle at SP

RESULT: £86.00 lost and £87.81 won = +£1.81

Believe it or not that is NOT what I wanted

I wanted both the losers to Bet £10 and Lay £10 so they would have both "pushed". No loss or gain.

The winner was a drifter and wanted both £10 on back (7.80) and £10 on lay (9.27) .

Result: 2 x Push... 1 x win £68.00 1 x Loss 92.70 = minus £24.70

OK, I would have lost this race because the winner was a drifter, but that is what I want.

Researching my bets over 2 years on the winners I place shows they go down in price by over a 2:1 ratio. So I want to "Push" the losers and stand the loss on winners when they drift and gain when they are bet down (over 67% of the time).

I am showing over 1000 points profit over a period of 2 years with over 12,000 bets placed. IF i could do this. In the past 2 years I have just simply been betting them and beating the BSP BUT having long, long, longer losing runs.

With my strategy I wanted just to take the price difference from bet price and BSP.

You could tell me to just lay them off at post time so I wiould get the push on the losers BUT I do't have the exact post time data recorded and will be different to BSP, how much I dont know but guess it is within +/-2% in the long haul. I have 1 minute to post data and that is nowhere near 1000 points profit ( under 150 off the top of my head)

OK, so If manualy trading at SP does not do the job I would not expect a bot to do it!

Thanks for all the help, but what I thought would be the simplest bot to write looks like it is not possibe! That is why this has been frustarting. I have used Bots for many years and this is the first time I joined the forum!

UNLESS

...... Anyone knows a way.

BSP bet can only be placed before in play, so your Time to bet rule must be set to allow betting only before in play.
