IN the 4:00 I had three bets.

The bot did put in 3 x £2 Lay bets with persistance at SP and here is what happened.

Two of them lost so should be breakeven on those.

The other won @ 1.69 and I had a bet @1.76.

I should have been in slight profit for the race but ended up in a loss.

Bet is placed, it was unmatched and it never got matched as price never changed enough for it to bet matched. You will need to discuss it with Betfair why bet did not get matched at BSP as you had persistence set to Take SP.

I just had another race with a single bet and the SP bet Lapsed.

This is something that just does not work and the top box needs to be eliminated as it asks for a price.

What I need is simply a box to place an exact same price bet at SP (as If I had just clicked the SP box manually on the Betfair interface).

The reason for this is could be quite simple and we know that if you BACK then it will work with persistance and it will take the bet at a lower SP.

Result: You only stand to lose your initial stake, but stand to gain a leittle less that youhad hope for.

However with LAY bets persistance may not work with Betfair as the bet would be at higher odds which are not known until the SP is known.

Result: Your liability can go as high as £2000 for a £2 stake.

So, SP persistance may just not work on lay bets WHEN you have a price stipulation.

I also have to add that in all these bets there was a LOT more available in my acct even if they all drifted to 1000/1

I (think) I have it.

The minimum liabilty for a Lay bet made at SP is £10. Simple.

when you "Hedge" out against an already placed bet then a lower than £10 liability can be placed as you have a win bet also that works with the Lay bet.

I see no option to Hedge out at SP.

If you "close" on SP bet then it does not take into account any back bets you have on the same section as it does not know how to calculate that liability to be over £10 as the SP of the LAY is not known.

I was testing to £2 stakes and that is the problem (again I think). If the price was only 3.50 and the pesistance was set to lay the SP it would "lapse" that bet as it did not meet the required liability. If I had tested with £50 stakes (too risky) then even at 1.25 odds the persistance would have worked and an SP Lay bet would have been placed.

I have checked all my lapsed £2 bets and they were all @ 5.50 or less.

Sorry for the hassle as (again I think) is not a BFBM problem rather an underlooked condition when laying with Betfairs SP.

I am now testing this on £10 stakes with a minimum price of 6/5 so should all lay.....????

This does not work as instructed. The next race I had Galway Red as my bot bet.

This had dropped by 10 Ticks so *should* have placed a £10 lay bet as the settings are "Use same stake as trade out bet"

This horse lost so should have broken even on this bet.

However I had another bet in the race which was nothing do with the bot which won.

I ended up losing on the race where I should have made a slight profit.

All I want from this ruleset is to place a win bet and then place an SP Lay bet for the exact same stake on the horses it is instructed to bet.

Why? My research into the market(s) for over two years show that I have made over 1000pts profit from betting early then taking SP on certain horses.

In just 3 days of trying to get this to work in the bot:

Any bet that loses would be a "Push"

So, we only need to look at the winners.

There have been 16 winners with prices taken totalling 59.99 and those same horses have had SP's totalling 57.24 which calculates as 59.99-57.24 = +2.75 pts profit.


*There were no late non runners in any race, so no deductions to account for*

This is easy to place manually so why is it so hard for the bot?

Can you please export your strategy so that we can check settings that you used and screenshots of bets placed by that strategy from within the bot? So that we see which bet was placed by strategy.

I explained all of that before.

I have now sacked the bot and am just placing bets with it and not closing out.

INSTEAD

I have had to make another bot to just place the Lay bet.

I am hoping these settings will place an SP bet????

I will take 10 ticks first though AND that is another point. I have asked for a 10 ticks WORSE price and am hoping as this is a LAY bet that it will ask for a lower and not higher price???

I also have BFSP if this bet does not fire which is all I want anyway.

Your screenshot shows "Price settings->Price rules" rule and that sets price to request when placing bet, it does not decide the type of bet. It does NOT tell strategy to place BSP bet. You can only use option to set start price as requested odds if you are placing bet during in play, when start price is known. So pleae turn off that option as you are placing bets before in play when start price is unknown.

To place BSP bet you must use "Staking->Bets persistence" rule, tick option to place start price bets and then select "Market on close" option. Also at "Market conditions->Markets filter" rule tick option to allow only Start price markets.

The "Persistence" part is confusing as a bet has not yet been place to "PERSIST" with.

I will see nothing placed now untill the off OR will it place the SP bet at 5mins to post (the time I have set to bet) as if I had manually hit the SP button on the Betfair interface?

Those settings will tell strategy to place Betfair Start price bet when placing initial bets. Minimum Back bet size is £1 and minimum Lay bet liability is £10 for BSP bets.

OK. first bet is 1:30pm, so will watch the Betfair interface and it should fire an SP Lay bet at 1:25pm.

I know about the liabilities, an overlooked part I mentioned a couple of messages ago.

These are £10 bets so only bets at SP 1.99 and uinder should fail (lapse).

There will be no failed bets if you set BSP liability to £10. All BSP bets get matched at BSP price at start time.

Final bet size is determined by Betfair by using BSP so that your Lay bet liability is £10.

Please test it in simulation mode first and then carefully in real mode to ensure that you have correct settings.

I can't test it in Sim mode as I have it already running other scripts in real mode.

That is not how BSP bets work. It is not possible to place Lay BSP bet to unknown liability. All BSP bets are placed to fixed liability and your final bet size is calculated only after BSP is known.
