General discussion about Bf Bot Manager v3 software for Betfair, Betdaq and Matchbook betting exchanges

Hi guys,

I'm new to the forum but I was looking for a bit of advice, I've set up a strategy that has been laying trap 2 on uk greyhounds quite successfully, when the dog in trap 2 wins the race and I take a loss, I have set up a recovery plan that has worked with limited success, recovering 100% of losses over 2 races with the same lay bet rules, however over the past few days it has been taking massive hits and has depleted my balance substantially.

Does anyone have any advice on how I can make the recovery more robust, I have thought about dutching to recover or backing the favourite in the next race(s) but im completely stuck! i am on the verge of giving up but i'm gutted because I feel like I have came so far!!.

I have attached the file for you to have a look at.

Thanks in advance

This is the kind of stuff I did when I first got the software, laying particular favs/runners/traps etc with various recovery methods. Trying to force money out of strategies that to level stakes would lose you money. I never managed to find anything that worked out as a viable strategy, I did have a couple of strategies like yours but only on very low stakes and lots of safety measures which could make a steady combined profit of £0-£2 a day  but scaling them up would be a financial disaster.

You could have a recovery method that gets you out of trouble in some situations compared to others but the same one could put you in much deeper trouble in a few bets time. So, in the end, I don't bother with any of them.

If you do give up try and come up with bots that make money to level stakes, I have a couple (only based on 3 weeks of bets so still unlikely to profitable long-term but looking good so far)

Most of my bots only fire off 0-4 bets a day so i think its quality over quantity that will get you the profits.

you could try include some of the aus/nz races as they often have 8 runners and reduce the max lay price your willing to take. I could never get ought like it to work though.

Probably wasn't very useful to you, but good luck and i hope it works out :D

G'day Neil from Melbourne, AU
I do something similar but I used trap 4 and have a condition that if Fav 1 then ignore (if the flow of logic is correct, select trap 4, then test if Fav #1)
The Max/Min runners is set the way it is because here we have some races that have more than six runners. If I was doing strictly a UK plan I'd do 6/6 instead

Mine is attached for your perusal

The Sqrt staking is simply a personal preference. TBH I don't think it makes a huge difference. I have a variation where I use Maria staking that in early days appears to be better.

Feel free to use or modify.
Best of luck
Glen
