General discussion about Bf Bot Manager v3 software for Betfair, Betdaq and Matchbook betting exchanges

I have a strategy which drips into the goals market 2 or 3 goals ahead of the current score. It LAYS against the UNDER x.5 market at a series of prices over 5 separate strategies.

It lays against the price of 1.05, 1.04, 1.03 etc and works fine. Initially the strategy was to hedge and close position by BACKING when the next goal came in (logically thinking because we've been laying, that the back was the right move). Each strategy closes against itself individually rather than game as a whole. This would work when the 3rd tab on the hedging "Sports related hedging" had a score of whatever was the next goal market, let's say 2-0, 1-1, 0-2 etc. This was working OK but it was leaving all of the money on the UNDERS market and leaving 0 on the overs.... This is basically the exact opposite of what we wanted i.e. leaving the money on the OVER while £0 sat on the UNDERS.

I change 'closed position by backing' to 'close position by laying' - Unfortunately, now it won't hedge at all on any of the markets. To clarify, there is another strategy feeding a bet into the same market however, that itself is closing on itself so shouldn't effect these individual dripped laying strategies.

Can you think of a reason why changing the close position by 'backing' to 'laying' would prevent the strategy from closing itself?

I appreciate your help on this matter

If you are placing Lay bets then you cannot close your position by placing further Lay bets, you must place Back bets to close your position.

If that's the case, is there a way to close the position so that the profit (after closing) is on the OVER markets rather than the UNDERS market we are laying?

Use close logic, tick option "If possible place bet so that we get profit if selection loses". Then test it in simulation mode to see if that is how you want it to work.

So to clarify, if I tick 'close by position by backing' AND 'if possible place bet so that we get profit if selection loses' - it will leave £0 on position 1 and all the potential profit on runner 2?
