Hi. I’ve never used a bot to do a B2L before so any help greatly appreciated.

I assume I need to do 2 rules/strategies, one for the back and then the lay? The back I am fine with, I can just add a rule to place a £10 back bet on my selections. Because the price changes at the off, I reckon I’ll just have to set it to best price available at 0 seconds in play.

For the lay, I want to lay the same horse at 50% off the back price for £15 so that if it hits the lay price, I’m guaranteed £5 profit (minus commission) but can’t work out which rule to do this on. I looked at the ‘compare prices’ one but wasn’t too sure how to do it.

Any help greatly appreciated, and happy for anyone to comment/provide feedback on any of the above. Cheers!

You need a single strategy. Then use "After bet rules->Trade out" rule to place opposite bet at better price. For more details on this rule please read the manual and test it in simulation mode to see how it works.

I have a similar problem.

A: I want ti fire a back bet in the market at x mins
B: I want to place an exact amount LAY on the same selection.

I have no problem with A

I just need to place a close out at BFSSP.

You can use "After bet rules->Trade out" rule to place that second bet at same size after first bet is matched.

I have tried that with the last check box set to "use same stake for trade out bet"

The bottom option was set to "take SP"

All that happens is that the bet "lapses" and no SP bet is made.

The option box for "place trade only when the inital bet is made" is also checked. .

Bet must be placed before in play and market must be BSP market. Then Betfair will attempt to match your bet at BSP if it is unmatched at start time.

The bets are placed way before the offtime.

The SP bet always Lapses.

I figured it was something on the top options box and have tried all sorts but cant seem to find a way to ignore the top options (they are not needed).

Please provide screenshots of your settings and of placed trade out bet. Also show us that bet details at Betfair website, it should display its persistence while it is unmatched.

There is no trade out bet as it Lapses and never gets placed.

Is there are screenshot of the settings show this simple trade out. I can't find one anywhere.

I am not a new user here. I have used BFBM for over a year and have far more complex rulesets than this.

Screenshot should be saved as an image file, then you can attach image file as attachment to your post. You can also save screenshots by using "Save screenshot" button at bottom left corner of your main window.

If bet has "Lapsed" status, then that means that bet is placed, but it was unmatched and market went in play so Betfair gave it lapsed status. If bet is displayed at bets grid view then it has its bet ID number and it is placed.

I have attached an image file and am trying these settings for the 3:25Newb race

This has already laid a bet at (and matched) a bet at 2 ticks below the bet price.

Heck. I wanted the top part to be ignored, but this test DID fire a bet which it hads done before, but if the top part conditions are not met it usuall lapses, so....

I have changed that ticks setting to 10 for my next trial in the 3:35 race.

This is what usually happens and you see it is set to take SP... This bet usually lapses.

Lets see what happens.

Arghhh. It matched at 10 ticks lower!!!

I shall try again in the 3:45

Persistence is set to "Take SP" which means that bot is working properly and setting persistence properly.

You should check it with Betfair support why such a bet would get Lapsed status and why it was not matched at BSP.

That bet was cancelled this time. That is because I had another hedge rule below that ( I did not when I was trying to get this to work before). That is why it canclled.

The 4:00 race I have deleted that 2nd hedge rule and now just have the close out bet.
