Back favourite depending on odds of other horses

Is there a way to only back the favorite horse if odds of all other horses match a certain criteria?
Also the favorite horses odds need to match a certain odds range too.

Example if favorite is between 2-3 odds and the rest of the horses odds between 8-1000

Sure, you can use "Market conditions->Min/max REQUIRED price for selection" and set it to check odds of 2nd favorite for price range 8.0 - 1,000. If 2nd favorite is in that price range then all other higher favorites are also in that price range e.g. above 8.0.
Add another instance of this rule to check odds of first favorite.
Then test it in simulation mode.

Sorry one more thing, if I wanted to place a lay bet straight after the back bet is matched to make equal profit win or lose, What would be the best way going about this? I would also like the lay bet to be persisted as most likely it will be matched inplay.

You can use "After bet rules->Trade out" rule for that. Please see manual for details and test it in simulation mode without risking any real money.
