Getting the Bot to place bets.

Hello.

I have set up several strategies which appear to work ok
On the bot/strategy page i click the slider to start but it wont place any bets.
The only way i can get it to place a bet is to go back into the markets page and click on skow/hide for each available market.
The second i click show/hide the bets column goes dark green and my bet is placed.
Is this how its supposed to work.
I would have thought just clicking start would get things going.
Any advice would be grateful

Thanks

Tony

Hi Tony,

By default bot starts monitoring markets just few minutes before start time and then strategies try to place bets.

You can adjust monitoring settings at Tools&settings->Monitoring settings form. Please read following article before you make any changes:

Hi Rade.

I have it set to 5 hours before but nothing happens until I click show / hide in markets and then it places the bets.
I have to do this for every race to get my bets placed

Thanks

Tony

Hi Tony,

Check your computer date and time, make sure it is accurately set for selected timezone.

If you keep having problems then post screenshots of MARKETS grid view, monitoring settings and of your date/time/timezone Windows settings so that we can check it all.

Rade

Hi Rade.

I have checked all dates times and regions and they appear ok.
I have took some screenshots for you so will walk you through

1. In Bots/Strategies in the morning after opening the program I click on real mode and slide my strategies to started
2. I check that all tips have autoloaded which they have.
3. I wait for bets to place because i know the tips meet all the criteria
4. Nothing happens and it stays like this.
5. Now i go into markets and find the first race containing the first tip. Today is the 105 Clonmel.
6 I then click on show/hide selections for the 105 Clonmel and it opens up betfair within the program
7 Almost instantly the bet icon for that race turns dark green and the bet has appeared in bets.
8. I have to do this everyday day for all markets before it starts placing bets.
9. Its as if the market is closed and needs to be opened.
10. I am hoping this is what its not supposed to do and theres a way around this.

Hi barberbookie,

At your screenshot markets are not being monitored, so prices are not being downloaded. Strategies execute only when prices are downloaded and this happens when you manually open market. Bot is designed to automatically monitor markets by settings set at Tools&Settings->Monitoring settings form. Please post screenshot of those settings.

Rade

Hi Rade

Monitored settings attached.

Hopefully this tool will save me manually opening the markets

Thanks

By those settings bot will start monitoring markets 10 minutes before start time.

If you wish to place bets early e.g. 5 hours before start time then you will need to start monitoring markets 5 hours before start time too. So change setting from 10 minutes to 5 hours and then try again.

Rade

OK Rade.

So if I change this setting to 5 h does this mean the bot will open the market and start monitoring 5 hours before the race

Thanks

Hi Tony,

Bot will not "open" the market, but it will start monitoring it. How all this works is explained in following article that I sent you earlier:
