Lay high, back low

Hi,
I'd like some help building the following strategy.
In the last 40% or so of a horse race, lay an arbitrary runner at high stakes, 12 or above.
The chances are that this lay is going on to not win the race.
So far, so good
Ocassionally, the lay will turn around and go on to win, losing me a heap of money.
The best thing to do in this case, I think, is to place a back bet lower than the initial la in order to avoid a big loss (a little loss is acceptable).
Could you recommend some conditions/after bet rules that would do what I'm looking for?.

Hi venuslocal,
At "After bet rules" add "Hedge" rule and set it to execute when price goes below odds of 2.0 or 3.0. Set it to check "Lay price" and tick option to calculate profit/loss by using initial bet only.

Rade

After a lot of testing and unmatched bets, I figured that my connection wasnt quite fast enough so I started a months trial of a VPS.
I have a hedge bet set to fire in if odds reach 1.5, it's set to ask for 2 ticks worse. It fires in sometimes and I figure the VPS isn't fast enough either.
Or maybe I should tweak the price settings?
Have you any suggestions?

Stop losses inplay on the horses are notoriously difficult to operate.

You should also check your monitoring settings and refresh rate. This is explained in following article:

Try settings it to 500ms or 300ms.

Rade

Hi Rade...
Yesterday I set up the strategy to do exactly everything you described in your answers in this post, but in 5 losing bets the edge never occurred. What could be the probable cause?

You should post screenshots of all your settings and of placed bets here and we will check them.
