I am trying to set up a strategy where I can make my own selections using the checkboxes (back/lay), all works well for the basic strategy, but I would like the option to make the strategy ONLY select either back OR lay bets.

So if I set it up to only use bets from my selections that are checked as back bets, it will ignore the bets that are checked lay.

Is there functionality built in to do this?

You should create two sets of tips, one for back bets and second one for lay bets. Then use one strategy to bet on back tips and second one to bet on lay tips.

When you pick your selections by using "My S." checkbox column then move them to "Manage tips" form as tips and set system/provider name that you will lose in your strategy rule "Staking->Bet on imported tips" rule so that strategy only bets on tips from that provider/tipster.
