BEWARE of software that can hamper your bot.

Hello,

My useful tip is so that the Bf Bot Manager that you purchased can run more efficently in senting protocols and wagers to the Befair system.

1. BECAREFUL OF THE SCREEN SAVERS.
It's not the fault of Bf Bot Manager if you have a Screen Saver that slows down the reaction time of your bot. Best option when running the bot is not to have any Screen Saver or set this to be say 5 hours in delay from appearing on your screen. I have an LCD monitor on my laptop so this is not a current concern to myself.

2. THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE SUCH AS "BOSS KEYS", "HIDE WINDOW HOTKEYS", "KEY TRACKER SOFTWARE", "PC LOCK CLOCK" can and has slowed down the Bf Bot Manager. Even worse can cause Bf Bot Manager to freeze up and crash.

This is not the fault of Bf Bot Manager.

DETAILS
"Hide Window Hotkey has a bug in connections with the Screen Saver. It falsely keeps track of multiple users of the Screen Saver. Then the software asks which "phantom" Screen Saver do you wish to check box so that other people in your home don't see them. But there is only one Screen Saver! So eventually Hide Window Hotkey gets corrupted and takes out Bf Bot Manager. Why does "Hide Window Hotkey" sabotage Bf Bot Manager from functioning? Seems it freezes for a while the PC Clock. When Bf Bot Manager notices the PC clock frozen, Bf Bot Manager crashes. Once I disabled the Screen Saver or added more time of say 5 hours Bf Bot Manager is not crashed by "Hide Window Hotkey" software anymore.

"Hide Window Hotkey" protects other people in the home from looking at the screen. Could be a useful feature to have Bf Bot Manager with a "Hide Screen From Others & Password" option."

FURTHER SUGGESTION
I suggested to Rade that Bf Bot Manager have the following flags the bot records such as the file "Log.txt", which are generated and updated by Bf Bot Manager. There are also the files Ukbets.xml and Aubets.xml depending upon the UK or AU Betfair wallet.
.
Set a flag in the Bf Bot Manger files such as Log.txt so that If an improper re-start occurs then the records will show Bf Bot Manager was either crashed or power failure to the computer occurred. I.e. Not Bf Manager's Fault.

For example: “TIME BOT STARTED, 17:00:03” This is when a person starts Bf Bot Manager.
“TIME BOT STOPS 19:00:05” This is when a person stops Bf Bot Manager
"TIME BOT PAUSED 19:01:45" This is when a person pauses the Bot.
"TIME BOT RESUME 19:02:01" This is when a person presses the Resume button.
“TIME BOT EXITED 19:15:59” This is when a person has exited the software and if needs to wager needs to log in again. This notes that no powerfailure or Bf Bot crash has occured. The bot behaved properly and the exit was proper.

Bf Bot Manager may have some of those notes but not all them I believe. Rade can fill you in on the pertaining details.

Sincerely Triopstor.

Hi Triopstor,

Thank you for this detailed message and your suggestions :-)

Bf Bot Manager requires little PC resources, but if you run some other software that uses CPU or your bandwidth a lot then it is possible that it slows down Bf Bot Manager. Regular Windows screensaver should not make any problems, I use one and it gets displayed after 5 minutes, and I never had any problems because this screensaver is simple and fast and it does not slow down machine. I also suggest that you never run any large downloads/uploads when using bots, or if you have to run those then make sure they do not use 100% of your internet connection speed, make sure you leave at least 256kbps for bots.

Your PC clock and timezone should be always correct and synchronized. It is very important that your clock is correct if you want bot to place your bets on time.

Yes, I will add more messages to log file regarding start/stop/pause/exit of bots, it should be helpful.

Regards,
Rade

I had trouble with AVG system scan freezing the bot.
It scans automatically so I disable this too.

hi
this is a very important topic, so give information on how to rectify the problem, not everybody knows how to alter the settings, so give detailed instructions on how to alter the settings.
a lot of users are new to computers and bots.

As a further note there are all kinds of screen savers, many of which are free. Many people wouldn't know if there is some connected & hidden malware, such as a spybot. And screen savers can be demanding on the processor if they include features such as animated graphics, automatic downloading of information such as time & weather and unnecessary mini-games for children.

Installing a screen saver or any unknown "source" software is a risk situation.

Even a internet browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.13 can get clogged from visiting too many markets, thus causing the computer to slow down to a near freeze on the computer processor. Once the Bf Manger Bot is working & wagering your money this is not a good or optimal time to be searching the internet.
